The Esplanade - PHOTOGRAPHER COMMENT
This picture was taken from the Esplanade in Perth. The panorama gives a good view of both the buildings of Perth CBD, and over the River Swan. You can also see the tower of the Swan Bells by the Barrack Street Jetty. Searching for information about the Esplanade is swamped with returns for The New Esplanade Hotel.
The Esplanade - FURTHER INFORMATION
The Esplanade - Perth visitor guide showing a virtual tour of 'The Esplanade' linked to an interactive map with local and travel information. 360° panoramas from Western Australia.
Panorama taken from the Esplanade in Perth, a walkway along the famous Swan River which lends its name to the surrounding area.
The good people of Perth are impressively laid back and enjoy their down time, evident here in that they use precious and scare land reclaimed from the riverbank to build a pedestrian walkway and cycle path. This links the central business district to the heart of the transport network, Barrack Street Jetty and the busiest area for visitors in central Perth. Given how many commuters traverse this small area, one can imagine how they enjoy the quiet of walking along the Esplanade riverbank in between business appointments or visits to shopping or conference centers nearby.
Further along this stretch of the river bank is Langley Park and then Wetland Park. Well worth a visit is the neighbouring Supreme Court Gardens.
ADDRESS
Runs along the northern bank of the Swan River parallel to Riverside Drive, between the intersections for Barrack Street and William Street.
TRAVEL DIRECTIONS AND GETTING THERE
Next to Barrack Street Jetty for river traffic, the Esplanade train station and Williams Street and St Georges Terrace have numerous bus stops all within a few mins stroll.
