St George's Anglican Cathedral - PHOTOGRAPHER COMMENT
This panorama shows the interior of St George's Anglican Cathedral in Perth. It is very difficult to get the exposure right to be able to capture both the interior of the cathedral and the stained glass windows.

Panorama taken inside St Georges Cathedral, the main Anglican church in the city of Perth.
Sacred and tranquil, the interior of the imposing St Georges Cathedral evokes an atmosphere of calm reverence. The design by Edmund Blackett used hand made clay bricks (taken from the clay flats under Queens Gardens), Bluestone pillars quarried from the limestone in Rottnest Island and Jarrah tree wood which had to soak in the Swan River for two years before it was soft enough to be carved. Blackett also designed St Mary's Cathedral in Sydney.
The Cathedral Tower was not part of the original design but added in 1902 as part of a memorial to Queen Victoria. Our thanks go to the Cathedral staff who allowed our Chief Photographer access to capture the breath-taking views out over the city of Perth and the skyline of the central business district and Swan River.
