Stunted Trees on Heirisson Island - PHOTOGRAPHER COMMENT
These stunted trees grow on the north side of Heirisson Island. They grew in two joined circles, and I liked the form, so took a panorama from the middle of one of the circles.

Stunted Trees on Heirisson Island - Perth visitor guide showing a virtual tour of 'Stunted Trees on Heirisson Island' linked to an interactive map with local and travel information. 360° panoramas from Western Australia.
Panorama taken from Heirisson Island, a small island in the estuary of the Swan River in Perth.
Once mud flats reclaimed from the estuary of the Swan River, Heirisson Island is now in part a Nature Reserve where wild Kangaroos can be seen. A quiet space in the heart of a bustling city, the small island underneath the Causeway road bridge is a great spot to rest and look out over the city of Perth.
These native trees are still quite young and part of the redevelopment scheme in this area. Parkland on both sides of the river, such as the Wetland Park has been reclaimed and offers a natural space with native species of trees, shrubs and grasses to attract indigenous wildlife to flourish. It also helps educate the community to the Outback countryside surrounding them.
