A 'Pa' is an ancient Maori hill fort. There are a number of these around he Coromandel Peninsula. Being built on high places they continue to offer good panoramic views of the surrounding area. This pa is on the outskirts of Cormomandel. From the top is a panoramic view over both the town and the bay, in which sits Whanganui Island.

A dirt track up to the top of the Pa leads off close to the junction of Wharf Road and Hauraki Road in Coromandel, just a little west of the town center.
