At the edge of the cliffs at Te Pare point is a tree growing at an interesting angle. I wanted a panorama showing the coastline and the tree, though obscuring the view, did add something different to a coastal shot. There is a narrow path along the cliff to the tree. Just don't look down as you make your way to it.

Hereheretaura Pa is a Maori fort on the very tip of Te Pare Point, near to Hahei Beach. See the Hereheretaura Pa panorama for further information about this hill fort.

At low tide walk along Hahei Beach and then up a series of steps to the path leading to Te Pare Point and Hereheretaura Pa. At high tide walk up Pa Road from Hahei to the beginning of the track in the reserve.
