Rottnest Island Ferry Leaving Fremantle - PHOTOGRAPHER COMMENT
I intended to take a series of panoramas during the crossing from Fremantle to Rottnest Island on the ferry, giving panoramic views of the coastline and harbour from the water. Sadly, as I finished taking this panorama just as we left the docking quay in Fremantle, I was told that standing on the deck was not permitted. This seemed very restrictive compared to most of Australia. On the way back from Rottnest Island, sitting on the deck was not permitted as there were no designated chairs on that ferry. There was a tall ship docked at the harbour at the time, visible in this picture.
