Historic Helmcken House is the oldest building in British Columbia that is still open to the public. This panorama was taken from Elliott Street Square, which is also of historic importance. Opposite the house is the Historic St Ann's School. Together these form an important tourist attraction of cultural interest in Victoria.

The Historic Helmcken House stands next to the Royal British Columbia Museum in Victoria, and also beside Thunderbird Park.
