The Place Pélissière - PHOTOGRAPHER COMMENT
La Place Pélissière is the largest and finest square in Bergerac. I took this photo standing close to the prominently-nosed statue of the swashbuckling Cyrano de Bergerac, the town's best-known figure.

Panorama of the Place Pelissiere, a square in the heart of Bergerac, a market town in the Dordogne region of France.
Place Pelissier is in the Old Quester of Bergerac, surrounded by centuries old stone buildings in a quaint and charming courtyard. Not much is written about the history of the square or this area of the town but currently there are many small, family run restaurants, guest houses, gites and little curio and antiques shops here.
The statue of Cyrano de Bergerac is frequently associated with the town, although the real person upon whom the fictional character was based had no actual association with the town.
