Hoover Dam and Lake Mead - PHOTOGRAPHER COMMENT
This panorama was taken looking back up the Black Canyon and Lake Mead from the Hoover Dam. The dam spans the Nevada / Arizona border, and two water intake towers can be seen on either side. On each is a clock, which shows the time of the respective states. Water flows from here to the massive turbines reaching speeds of up to 85 mph. There is a steady stream of traffic across the dam, with occasional breaks as shown here.
