Karmelitermarkt - FURTHER INFORMATION

Karmelitermarkt - Vienna visitor guide showing a virtual tour of 'Karmelitermarkt' linked to an interactive map with local and travel information. 360° panoramas from Wien.

Karmelitermarkt
Vienna has 27 markets dotted around the city, most of which, like the Karmelitermarkt, sell mostly food. Viennese delights nestle amongst fresh fruit, meat and other items. The Karmelitermarkt is open Monday to Friday from 6:30am to 6:30pm, and on Saturdays from 6am to 2pm. It is found at the junction of Leopoldsgasse and Haidgasse, a little south of the Augarten.

Galerie am Karmelitermarkt
This area of Vienna is slowly undergoing some renewal, and in 2004 the Galerie am Karmelitermarkt took up residence at Haidgasse No. 5, the road which runs along the northern edge of the Karmelitermarkt. The Gallery is dedicated to modern and contemporary works, and some of the artists featured here include Gschwantner Christina, Hantsch Daniela, Navacchi Giuseppe, Ge hay man, Paradine Ian and Stöbe Erhard among others. Exhibitions change continually so see the Gallery Website for details (there is no English version available at the time of writing).
