Loch Long at Loch Goil - PHOTOGRAPHER COMMENT
Opens looking North towards the distinctive ridge up to Beinn Reithe. To the northwest is Loch Goil and to the east Loch Long at Portinscaple. Care should be taken to avoid being run over by submarines.
Loch Long at Loch Goil - FURTHER INFORMATION
Loch Long at Loch Goil - Loch Long visitor guide showing a virtual tour of 'Loch Long at Loch Goil' linked to an interactive map with local and travel information. 360° panoramas from Argyll.
Loch Long extends inland for about 20 miles from the Firth of Clyde in the Argyll region of Scotland. Loch Goil extends northwest from Loch Long about half way up it's length. Both of these are sea lochs. To the east lies Gare Loch, separated from Loch Long by the Rosneath Peninsula. There is still a submarine naval base in Gare Loch (Faslane Naval Base).
This panorama was taken from the junction of the Loch Long and Loch Goil, showing the view up both bodies of water. To the north, separating the two lochs, is the Argyll Forest Park. Loch Long extends up the right hand side of the park, and Loch Goil is to the left. Loch Long continues south to the Firth of Clyde. The picture shows a typical Scottish scene on the lochs on an overcast day.
