Loch Long - FURTHER INFORMATION
Loch Long - Loch Long visitor guide showing a virtual tour of 'Loch Long' linked to an interactive map with local and travel information. 360° panoramas from Argyll.
Loch Long is a sea loch in the Argyll and Bute region of Scotland. It extends north for about 20 miles from the Firth of Clyde at its southwestern end, and is 1 to 2 miles wide along the length. There is one side loch, Loch Goil, which branches off to the west. The Argyll Forest Park wraps around the northern end of both lochs. Loch Long is separated by the Rosneath Peninsula from Gare Loch which lies to the east.
The A814 road extends up the western side of Loch Long, and along it are numerous small villages and settlements. At the northern end is Ardgartan, followed in a southerly direction by Succoth, Arrochar, Ardmay, Glenmallan and Portincaple. At this point a small road proceeds down the western side of the Rosneath Peninsula before circling back up the lower part of Loch Long to Cove, Ardpeaton and Coulport.
