The Millennium Tower in Vienna stands 202m tall, has 51 floors serving both residential and commercial purposes. Construction started in 1997 and it opened in 1999. It is the highest building in Austria and the second tallest construction in Europe. The tower is the focal point of the Millenniumcity complex in Vienna. It was by Boris Podrecca , a Slovenian architect and dominates the skyline alongside the Danube on the northern edge of Vienna in the 20th district.

The Millennium city complex also contains a number of shopping malls and restaurants, including the obligatory Indian, fast food joints and Japanese sushi restaurants and bars.
