On South Australia's coastline, south of Adelaide and the Coorong National Park lies Robe, a historic port town south of Kingston and the main town in this coastal area of outstanding scenic beauty. As one of the busiest port in the early days of Australia, the Robe Obelisk at the cliff headland is an important navigational monument and panoramic viewpoint worth visiting.
Long Beach, the 17Km long white sandy beach stretches on along Guichen Bay, up the Limestone Coast and northwards towards the Coorong. The sand dunes, salt flats and wetlands form an ecosystem which is rich with wildlife and rare plantlife.
Several conservations areas are nearby including Little Dip, Woakwine, Lake Robe, Lake Frome, Canunda, Furner, Reedy Creek, Guichen Bay, Bernouilli, Butcher Gap and Tilley Swamp conservation parks all along the B1 Princes Highway.
