Roche Cove - PHOTOGRAPHER COMMENT
This may look like a lake, but it is in fact a coastal inlet, the water connects to the sea via a channel under the bridge you can see in the image. The panorama was taken perched on a rock at low tide. At high tide the rock I was standing on is cut off from the land, as can be seen in the satellite view on the Google map.

Roche Cove is in Roche Cove Regional Park, situated in East Sooke on Vancouver Island. The park covers 159 hectares and features numerous beaches, beautiful vistas, forested trails. The secluded cove shown here feeds into the Sooke Basin. Roche Cove is linked to Matheson Lake Regional Park by the 'Galloping Goose Trail', a disused railway line that has been converted into a walking and cycling trail that starts in Victoria.

Roche Cove Regional Park is located in Gillespie Road near Sooke, southwest of Victoria off West Coast Highway 14.
