Taken late in the afternoon, this panorama shows part of Whiffen Spit in Sooke. The picture was taken on the seaward side of the spit showing the vast bank of stones and rock, with well established trees and shrubs growing along the top. Scattered on the shoreline are various logs washed up by storms and bleached white by the sea and sun, a stark contract to the grey stones. On the other side of the Strait de Juan de Fuca the Olympic Mountains in the USA are hidden by a bank of cloud.
