Calico I in Red Rock Canyon - PHOTOGRAPHER COMMENT
The sandstone formations at Calico I in Red Rock Canyon are amazing to walk about. Towering rounded sandstone dwarfs those exploring it. This panorama was taken late in the day, and most people were leaving the park. Note the two people seen in the image for a sense of scale. Look carefully enough and you will find my shadow. The striations and markings within the rock are striking, one wonders just how these were created as the rock was laid down. Not surprising then that over a million people visit this park each year.
