The Palais Trautson (Trautson Palace was designed by Johann Bernhard Fischer von Erlach and built in 1710 to 1712 for Johann Leopold Donat prince Trautson. It is a Baroque Palace which used to contain and orangey, though this was removed to make way for Imperial stables under Empress Maria Theresia. For a while the palaces was owned by the state of Hungary and was brought by the Austrian government in 1961. Since 1966 the Palais Trautson has housed the Austrian Ministry of Justice and is therefore closed to the public.
Palais Trautson contains contains a large festival room in the Mittelrisalit of the building called the the Sala Terrena, which is richly decorated by frescoes by Marcantonio Chiarini.
