Exchange Square The Forum - PHOTOGRAPHER COMMENT
A nighttime panorama taken in the Forum of Exchange Square. The panorama was shot next to the bull fountain that stands to one side of the square, reminiscent of the bull statue at the end of Wall Street in New York. The picture shows some of the surrounding buildings in Hong Kong. It was close to Christmas and decorations were being put up in the Forum.

To find a shopping center at the foot of some of the worlds most wealthy banks is an amusing irony. The Forum is the retail center which inter-connects across this immaculately-kept plaza with the skyscraper towers of Exchange Square.
Owned by international banking giants such as Morgan Stanley, Credit Suisse, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, Allen & Overy and Allens Arthur Robinson these magnificent towers form the heart of the economic trading and corporate commerce in Hong Kong. Exchange Square is also home to the consulate buildings for Argentina, Canada and Japan.
A visitor attraction in their own right, these buildings are mega-structures gleaming in shiny chrome-like metal and glass. Their contemporary designs make a marvelous spectacle and proudly show where the billions of dollars went in their construction.
Yet while this site has the look and feel of international money, the statue of a water buffalo at the heart of The Forum plaza is delightfully representative of the marriage of both cultures - symbolic of a "bull market" and also the Chinese representation of "growth and profitability".
