Panorama taken from Bethesda Terrace, which overlooks the Bethesda Fountain and The Lake beyond. Heading south is The Mall. At time I arrived here Sesame Street was filming an episode and I had to wait a while before being allowed onto the terrace. Bethesda Terrace is at the northern end of the Mall of Central Park in New York. The terrace overlooks Bethesda Fountain and The Lake. It is a popular place for film crews and fashion shoots, which happen on an almost weekly basis. This is an apt use of Bethesda Terrace, as it was designed as a focal social meeting place within the park, a place to go and be seen. This is one of the more popular places for visitors to Central Park.Travel Directions and Getting There:
