Magnolia Trees in Bloom

Photographer Description of Magnolia Trees in Bloom

When taking the panorama of Cleopatra's Needle, I spotted this woman sitting in the branches of the magnolia trees nearby. This picture is taken standing among the magnolias as if under a tent made by pink flowers.

Magnolia Trees in Bloom - Further Information

Springtime in Central Park is one of the prettiest of the year. The cherry blossom trees and magnolia trees come into flower bringing some of the first colour to the park and New York in the spring before the trees leaf. This small grove of magnolia trees stands next to Cleopatra's Needle (The Obelisk) on the east side of Central Park, just behind the Metropolitan Museum of Art and close to Turtle Pond and Belvedere Castle.
