Google Map Conservatory Garden - Central GardenPhotographer Description of Conservatory Garden - Central GardenTaken on an overcast spring afternoon, this panorama shows Central Garden in the Conservatory Garden of Central Park.Conservatory Garden - Central Garden - Further InformationThe Central Garden is the middle of three gardens that together form the Conservatory Garden in Central Park. Situated at the northern end of Central Park, near 110th street and far away from many of the major tourist attractions in Lower Manhattan, the Conservatory Garden provide New York with a series of tranquil and formal gardens. They lie just south of the Harlem Meer, next to the North Meadow and close to the Museum of New York City. The Central Garden is laid out in Italian style, formed by a large grass lawn bordered by paths lined with crab apple trees on either side. As can be seen in this image, these trees bloom in spring. The trees on the northern edge appear to bloom first, as shown in this picture, but in fact it is the southern branches of all the trees that bloom first. At the western end of Central Garden is a wrought-iron wisteria pergola which looks down on a beautiful geyser fountain. The pergola has yet to bloom, but when it does it covers the walkway with purple flowers, making it a favorite spot for wedding photos. The other gardens of the Conservatory Garden are the North Garden, a French style garden, and the South Garden, laid out as an English garden. Comments and Reviews.
