Laguna - Wazzer of Oz - PHOTOGRAPHER COMMENT
I came across Laguna driving a back route from Sydney through the Hunter Valley. The village store was a great place for a break and be told 'you're not from around here, are you?'. The sculpture shown in this panroama, a take on the Tim Man from the Wizard of Oz, is called the Wazzer of Oz. Look carefully and you will see why.
Laguna - Wazzer of Oz - FURTHER INFORMATION
Laguna - Wazzer of Oz - Hunter Valley visitor guide showing a virtual tour of 'Laguna - Wazzer of Oz' linked to an interactive map with local and travel information. 360° panoramas from New South Wales.
Laguna is a small settlement in the Hunter Valley. Very little information is available about the village except that it is in the Hunter Valley in New South Wales, Australia and as such is promoted as a holiday destination for those touring the vineyards in the region.
Laguna is not on the main vineyard tourist route in the valley, so remains tranquil. Laguna is often lumped together with Wollombi by those listing holiday accommodation in the region. Outside the village store is a metal sculpture of the Tin Man from the Wizzard of Oz with a curl of metal emanating from it's midriff. It is thus called the Wazzer of Oz.
TRAVEL DIRECTIONS AND GETTING THERE
Laguna is about 120km north of Sydney. From Sydney take the 1 Highway north and then the 36 to Central Mangrove. Continue north on the George Downes Drive and then the Great North Road to Laguna.
