Weston at Sunset - PHOTOGRAPHER COMMENT
This panorama was taken just north of the village of Weston during sunset. The sun went down very quickly and the colours in the clouds all changed within a matter of minutes.
Weston at Sunset - FURTHER INFORMATION
Weston at Sunset - Hunter Valley visitor guide showing a virtual tour of 'Weston at Sunset' linked to an interactive map with local and travel information. 360° panoramas from New South Wales.
Weston has grown to merge with Kuri Kuri in the Hunter Valley in New South Wales. This suburb lies just west of Kuri Kuri proper, and is about 15 minutes form Cessnock. Resting in hills in one of the most important wine growing regions of Australia, Weston is a growing community with a relaxed, family feel. The town started in 1903 as a private town for workers at the Hebburn No.1 Colliery of the Australian Agricultural Company. The land was owned by the Weston family.
Weston is close enough to be within easy access of many of the major vineyards in the region, like Pokolbin to Denman, but far enough to avoid the vineyards' own hotels. This avoids Weston from being inundated with coach loads of tourists visiting the Hunter Valley vineyards from Sydney, allowing visitors to get a more relaxed, local feel of the area.
Weston is also ideally placed for exploring the upper regions of the Hunter Valley and the fantastic beaches of the Tomaree Peninsula just north of Newcastle.
TRAVEL DIRECTIONS AND GETTING THERE
