A panorama looking back over to the Brisbane CBD from the top of the cliffs on Kangaroo Point. From this vantage point you get a good panoramic view along the Brisbane River, with the Botanic Gardens just over the water and the high rise office buildings of the CBD to the north. One of the frequent river ferries can be seen on the water. It is possible to walk almost the entire length of Kangaroo point along the river.

Kangaroo Point suburb of Brisbane built on a peninsula running north-south surrounded by the Brisbane River. Bridges at the southern and northern end of the headland link Kangaroo Point to central Brisbane. There are walks along the top of the cliffs and also along the riverside that offer good views over Brisbane CBD.

Kangaroo Point is made of hard rhyolite rocks (igneous volcanic rock similar to plutonic granite), which have resisted river erosion and have been left as a dramatic spur around which the river meanders. Providing good views over Brisbane, there are numerous hotels and holiday apartments built along the tops of the cliffs. The cliffs are close to the South Bank Parklands and the Maritime Museum. Along the base of the cliffs are a couple of outdoor pursuit centers, providing river sports and cliff climbing. A river path continues north to Captain Burke Park at the northern end of Kangaroo Point.
