Nunawading is a suburb of Melbourne in the state of Victoria in Australia. The name comes from the Aboriginal for 'battlefield' or 'ceremonial ground'. The township here started in 1870 when the main industry was the production of bricks and clay, probably for the growing city nearby. Today, noticeable features of Nunawading include the presence of the largest retail strip for bulkgoods in Melbourne on Whitehorse Road and the headquarters of the Bird Observation & Conservation Australia. Probably the most famous thing about Nunawading is that the Melbourne studios of the Network Ten television network are in the area, and this is still the filming location for that global hit, Neighbours.
