The Atrium is within Federation Building, next to Federation Square. Federation Square is a focal point of Melbourne. The Atrium is a galleria-like structure made of glass, steel and zinc. It is designed to look like a street and draws inspiration from the traditional lanes and arcades in Melbourne. The Atrium is flanked by the Ian Potter Centre: NGV Australia, the 'Zinc' function centre and numerous bars, cafes and shops. The Atrium provides access the Federation Theatre and to the Yarra River via Federation Wharf.
