St Peter's Eastern Hill - PHOTOGRAPHER COMMENT
This panorama was taken from the inside of St Peter's Eastern Hill church. The building has great wooden beams, and along one of them are inlays of metals, which can be seen in this picture. The church is quite small, tucked away and off the beaten track.

St Peter's Eastern Hill stands just over the road from St Patrick's Cathedral in Melbourne , a short walk from Fitzroy Square and just behind Parliament House. It is an Anglican church.
The first part of St Peter's was built here in 1846 and completed in 1876. The area had a reputation for high standing and respectablilty, with many prominent doctors of Melbourne being among the worshipers. It was at one time likened to Bloomsbury Square in London. Various members of the church presented the community with numerous objects. The marble font was donated by one such in 1840. It is still in use.
