Pennington Gardens are just north of Adelaide city center. The stand in front of St Peter's Cathedral, whose spires can be seen to the north, and next to the Cross of Sacrifice Memorial Gardens. Combined, these two gardens form part of Peace Park, which also incorporates the Prince Henry Gardens, Ester Lipman Gardens, and the Pioneer Women's Memorial Gardens.
