Adelaide Bridge links central Adelaide to North Adelaide via the King William Road. It stands between Victoria Bridge to the west and Albert Bridge to the east. On the southern side of the bridge is Elder Park and the Pioneer Womens Memorial Gardens. On the northern side are the Adelaide Oval, University Oval, Cross of Sacrifice Memorial Garden, Pennington Gardens and St Peter's Cathedral.
Public footpaths and cycle ways run along both banks of the River Torrens. King William Street runs directly through the middle of Adelaide, passing Victoria Square in the center.
