Every Palace has to have a maze, and Schönbrunn is no different, found in the Irrgarten. The one that Maria Theresia had planted as she developed the Schlosspark eventually became overgrown and was cut down. in 1998 the Maze in the Irrgarten has been replanted and now provides high walls that help the explorer get lost trying to find the central raised platform.

Once you have extracted yourself from the main Maze, there is much more to explore in the Irrgarten. The Labyrinth contains a number of interesting games and activities suitable for all ages. Entrance to the Irrgarten is ticketed.
