Beaufort - Beaufort visitor guide showing a virtual tour of 'Beaufort' linked to an interactive map with local and travel information. 360° panoramas from Victoria.
Beaufort is a historic town in Victoria, founded in the Gold Rush days of 1860's. Once bustling with activity and expectancy as the new frontiers were explored and riches uncovered, Beaufort has evolved through its short history to become a township typical of rural southern Australia.
Nowadays, Beaufort is a service center and an important town with shops, amenities and daily life facilities for the inhabitants of the surrounding areas. Industry focuses on the production of wool, farming, quarrying, mining and forestry. It has schools, churches, garages and all the businesses you'd need for a countryside town. If passing through on the way to the Grampians National Park or down to Melbourne, be sure and visit Buangor, a small town on the Western Highway approx 20 km west of Beaufort.
