Palmhaus Inside at Schönbrunn - Further Information

The Palmhouse at Schönbrunn was designed by Franz Xaver Segenschmid and built between 1881/2. It is a 113m long iron and glass structure with a central pavilion 25m high from which two 25m high wings extend. The north wing houses temperate plants while the south wing (shown in this panorama) houses tropical flora.

Information about the current flora being grown in the Palm House can be obtained from Bundesgärten Schönbrunn.

The Palmhaus is at the far west of the Schlosspark, near to the Wüstenhaus and close to the Hietzinger Tor (Hietzinger Gate) entrance to the park. Entrance to the Schönbrunn Palm House is ticketed.
