The Kronprinzengarten (Privy Garden) at Schönbrunn from part of the Meidling Kammergärten which lie immediately in front of the east façade of the palace. It received the name after ground floor apartments in this wing had been refurbished for Crown Prince Rudolf around 1870. The four sections of the gardens are well sheltered from winds. In the summer months there is a good collection of citrus trees from the Federal Parks and Gardens Authority here. An ancient yew tree grows at the focal point of the four beds.

At the far east end is a Gazebo which is accessible as a viewing platform. There is a panoramic image of the Kronprinzengarten and surrounding area taken from the top of the Gazebo.
