Port de Portinatx, pronounced 'Portinax', is on the north western tip of Ibiza, not far from Cala d'en Serra and Cala Xarraca. This small fishing port has developed into a very popular holiday resort. Set on the rugged north coast, with deep coves and sandy beaches, Portinatx has something for everyone. Nearby is the Torre de Portinatx, a tower standing on the cliff tops.
Being on the northern tip of Ibiza, Port de Portinatx is removed from the club lands found in Ibiza town, San Antonio and Santa Eularia. It therefore has a more relaxed and family feel, with numerous hotels and appartments to suit every need. The Port de Portinatx bay is divided into two sandy beaches known as s'Arenal Gross and s'Arenal Petite (s'Arenal large and small) by a small headland. This panoramic image show the S'Arenal Gross beach. The area is good for snorkeling and equipment can be hired on the beach. The rugged coastline on this part of Ibiza is popular for hiking and coastline walking.
