St James Chapel is a side chapel (one of the Chapels of the Seven Tongues) within Cathedral Church of St John the Divine. It is to the right of the Choir Stalls. The cathedral isnear to the northwest corner of Central Park in New York.
Named after the Apostle James, the chaple highlights the contributions of Spain to Christian traditions. James is the patron saint of Spainashington National Cathedral. Money for the chapel was provided by Elizabeth Scriven Potter in memory of her husband, Henry Codman Potter, seventh Bishop of New York. His tomb and recumbent effigy can be seen in this image under the southern window to the right of the altar. The Chapel of St James is used for weddings and concerts, it can seat 250 people and has an Aeolian-Skinner organ of 857 pipes.
