Point Jerningham

Photographer Description of Point Jerningham

A panorama taken late in the afternoon from Jerningham Point, showing a view over Wellington Harbour and Port Nicholson. This is a popular point for shore line fishing and numerous people line the shore with rods. The day was heavily overcast, giving a moody image in the late sun.

Point Jerningham - Further Information

Point Jerningham is a point jutting into Wellington Harbour that separates the bay of Central Wellington from Evans Bay inlet. The CBD of Wellington lies to the west, to the south are Evans Bay and the airport. The coastline here is mostly rocky, though there are numerous little coves and bays that line the shore. A road runs along the whole coastline weaving around the bays and hills.
