Banyalbufar Beach and Cala - Mallorca visitor guide showing a virtual tour of 'Banyalbufar Beach and Cala' linked to an interactive map with local and travel information. 360° panoramas from Balearic Islands.
Cala Banyalbufar is close to the village of Banyalbufar on the north coast of Mallorca. A narrow, windy, single lane track descends down the hills from Banyalbufar to the beach, where there is a small car park. From here it is a short walk down steps to the pebbly beach, opens onto a picturesque cove backed by steep cliffs over which a waterfall plunges.
Cala Banyalbufar is definitely off the tourist track, with few amenities bar one small cafe. The beach offers limited space for sunbathing, but offers great snorkeling and swimming. Sometimes, when the waterfall is strong, you can see a clear differentiation in the sea as the fresh river water mixes with the sea. It is very refreshing to stand under the waterfall after swimming before drying off in the sun.
The northern side of Mallorca is very rocky. Around Cala Banyalbufar there are numerous walks along the coast providing access to smaller, more secluded calas.
The long hot walk down,
with the memory of a gust of waterfall wind
cruxifix style and out to the already set sun.
Standing on the edge and looking into the definition of blue.
A shiver away from the cold and untouchable. So much water - yet not enough.
Rock lying, water lying with no casual drift.
The sun is not down yet, just playing with confused clouds.
