Pol Hill - PHOTOGRAPHER COMMENT
This panorama was taken from near the base of the wind turbine on Pol Hill and shows the panoramic view over Wellington from the top of this hill in Brooklyn. One of the 13.5m blades of the wind turbine can just be seen in the image.
Pol Hill - FURTHER INFORMATION
Pol Hill - Wellington visitor guide showing a virtual tour of 'Pol Hill' linked to an interactive map with local and travel information. 360° panoramas from Wellington Region.
Pol Hill is a little to the south of central Wellington in New Zealand. From the top there are fantastic panoramic views over the entire city and region, including the Cook Strait and the upper South Island on a good day. To the north the view extends well out into Wellington Harbour and the Lower Hutt and Upper Hutt regions.
In addition to the panoramic views of the surrounding area, Pol Hill is known for three things locally - the Brooklyn Wind Turbine, WWII anti aircraft gun emplacements, and downhill, off-road cycling.
TRAVEL DIRECTIONS AND GETTING THERE
Pol Hill and the wind turbine are down a narrow lane which comes off Ashton Fitchett Drive in Brooklyn, Wellington.
