Harbourside Waterfront - PHOTOGRAPHER COMMENT
A panorama taken from the waterfront at Harbourside, close to the CBD of Wellington. This is a newly re-developed area of Wellington Harbour, with much of the industrial wharfs and shipping services being replaced with restaurants, bars and office blocks, along with luxury residential accommodation.

Harbourside is an area close to the CBD in Wellington that has been redeveloped into a modern, fashionable and desirable district. In the district is Queens Wharf, one of the busiest parts of the whole waterfront with a conference centre (Queens Wharf Events Centre) and many restaurants and bars. It is therefore popular with both locals and tourists alike. Visitors come to relax on the waterfront, and both the Harbour ferry to Day's Bay and Helipro helicopter company are based here. The The Museum Of Wellington City And Sea is also in the area.
The view shown in this panorama looks out over Wellington Harbour. A promenade proceeds all the way along the waterfront south from here passing several landmarks and attractions on the way. The next point of interest south is Queens Wharf, followed closely by Frank Kitts Park and City Sea Bridge, close to Civic Square and the Town Hall. It then continues past the Hikitia Floating Crane Ship before turning the corner the Te Papa Museum and the Circa Theatre. From here the walk continues east past Chaffers Wharf and Clyde Quay Boat Harbour to Oriental Bay and beach. To the southeast is Mount Victoria, popular with tourists for the Victoria Peak Lookout.
