Katherine Mansfield House is the birthplace of Kathleen Mansfield Beauchamp, one of the most famous authors in New Zealand who wrote modernist short fiction and used Katherine Mansfield as her pen name. The house is also known as the 'Katherine Mansfield Birthplace', and the full title is the 'Katherine Mansfield Birthplace Te Puakitanga'.

The house in Wellington has been preserved as a museum about the author, and the rooms have been laid out much as they would have been during her life. Little about the house has changed, it is a timber building with a painted, corrugated iron roof.
