A tourist 'noddy' road train can also be seen in the picture.Slovak National Museum - Further InformationThe Slovak National Museum (SNM) Building on Vajanského nábrezie in Bratislava is the main office of the Slovak National Museum and also contains the Natural Science Museum of the SNM. It stands on Fajnorovo Nábrezie embankment the beside the River Danube.The history of the SNM dates back to the beginning of the 20th century with the opening of the first permanent exhibition from a national Slovak collection in Martin. The building that now houses the HQ of the Slovak National Museum was built in Neoclassical style between 1925-28 to house Agricultural Museum. Parts of the original facade were destroyed during bombing raids in WWII. In 1930 the first exhibitions were a joint venture between the Agricultural Museum and the Slovak National Geographic and History Museum. These were merged in 1940 to form the Slovak Museum. Following reconstruction after WWII, the building became the headquarters of the new Slovak National Museum. As the name suggests, the SNM manages numerous museums throughout Slovakia. Within Bratislava there are exhibitions at Bratislava Castle, St Michael's Gate and numerous othre buildings. The list of museums and collections overseen by the SNM are:
