Devin Castle (hrad Devín / Devínsky hrad) is a ruined castle a little to the west of Bratislava. The castle is built on a 212m high rocky hill.. As this panoramic image shows, there are commanding views over the surrounding area. Devin castle is built on a curve of the Danube, the large river seen in this picture. A tributary, the Morova River (March), runs south into the Danube at the base of the hill, as shown in the picture. Surrounding the base of Devin Castle to the north east is the small village of Devin, whose red-roofed buildings are also shown here among the hills.
