Hikitia Crane Ship - Bow - PHOTOGRAPHER COMMENT
A panorama taken from the bow of the Hikitia, a floating crane ship which now serves as a floating museum, moored along the quay in Wellington Harbour. In this picture you can clearly see the working end of the crane, it is massive and able to lift hundreds of tonnes. The gearing house and and wheelhouse of the crane ship are visible further back down the ship. A leisure cruise boat has just returned from taking tourists around the harbour and is moored in front of the crane.
