Panoramic views over Bermeo harbour and yacht marina from here on the quayside, or from the hills above the town, have earned Bermeo's reputation as a picturesque holiday destination. The bright colours of the houses which line the ancient harbour walls are distinctive, each unique and collectively a striking sight.

Today, Berneo is a thriving port and the hub of the fishing industry on the Basque Biscay coast.
