The Cuningham House Conservatory stands just north of the Central Rose Gardens in theChristchurch Botanic Gardens. Named after Mr G A C Cuningham who donated funds for the conservatory, it houses tropical plants from the garden's collection. The conservatory was built in 1923 and is now a listed building with New Zealand Historic Places Trust. The conservatory has two floors with spacious staircases. Plants on display include Dieffenbachia, Peperomia, Hoya, Anthurium and Dracaena.
On the top level there is access to a balcony above the southern entrance giving good views over the Central Rose Gardens. To the north are other conservatories housing desert plants and orchids.
