Cathedral Square, the main square in Christchurch, is the focal point for visitors to the city who stroll among the various stalls selling goods and relax watching street performers and other artists. The square is surrounded by municipal buildings and hotels. The Christchurch Tourist Information Centre is on the south side, and the eastern side is dominated by the 63m spire of ChristChurch Cathedral.
