The true name for the Christchurch Basilica is the 'Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament', but it is referred to in most tourist literature simply as the 'Christchurch Basilica. The church stands to the southeast Christchurch city center, and is therefore removed from the central tourist attractions, though still open to the public.
