Christchurch Arts Centre occupies a collection of neo-Gothic buildings next to the Christchurch Botanic Gardens and Christchurch Museum, a short walk from Cathedral Square. These buildings used to be a part of the University of Christchurch, but today form a collection of display areas, galleries and workshops for a number of local artists.

Visit the Christchurch Arts Centre and discover artists and their works in a relaxed setting. Here you will also find specialty shops, bars, cafes, restaurants, cinemas and theatres alongside numerous galleries. The Arts Centre also holds a regular weekend market and is the site of many festivals.

The layout of the Christchurch Arts Centre is reminiscent of many of the colleges found in Oxford and Cambridge in England. This provides a couple of squares, or quads, surrounded by numerous buildings providing and entertaining maze to explore.
