Graben and Petersplatz - FURTHER INFORMATION
Graben and Petersplatz - Vienna visitor guide showing a virtual tour of 'Graben and Petersplatz' linked to an interactive map with local and travel information. 360° panoramas from Wien.
Petersplatz in the Innere Stadt of Vienna is almost entirely taken up by Peterskirche which was built in the 18C and is one of the finest Baroque churches in Vienna. This view of the church exterior and the square is taken from the Graben.
The Graben is a padestrianised road that leads from here past the Pestsäule (Plague Column) which was erected in 1679 to commemorate one of the times Vienna was ravaged by Plague. Graben is lined with numerous coffee shops as it wonders along to Stephansplatz and the Stephansdom, one of the most visited tourist attractions in Vienna.
In this panoramic image you can also see one of the many horse-drawn carriages. Riding in them is also a popular activity for tourists.
